![]() ![]() I really don’t like when things don’t go the way I want them to! (Mini temper tantrum here.) This book definitely played with my emotions. I don’t like when plots jump all over the place. One minute, we were in this galaxy, next we were on a planet, then to another galaxy, and just a lot of back and forth that I just didn’t care for. I don’t know if it was just me or if other people felt the same way. ![]() There was a lot of jumping around and it seemed to be kind of messy and not very cohesive. The second half of the book was kind of everywhere. This is strictly just my personal preference, but I thought I should mention it. I am not a huge romance lover so I was kind of put off by it to be honest. The first half of the book was very lovey-dovey. I decided not to add the synopsis to this review since I think synopses for series can be a bit spoilery if you haven’t read the first book. If you haven’t read The Diabolic, you can still read this review. Now, I didn’t hate the book, but it just wasn’t as good and it definitely didn’t take a direction I was expecting. Unfortunately this was true for this series. For the most part, I usually don’t enjoy second books as much as firsts. The Empress is the second book in The Diabolic trilogy? Series? I’m actually not really sure how many books this series will end up having. ![]()
